Storliens Fjällgård

About us

STF Storliens Fjällgård is beautifully situated 580 m above sea level at the base of the bare mountain region, offering a scenic view of the famous Swedish mountains Blåhammaren and Snasamassivet.

We're a cosy and intimate hostel that is very popular among families. We want to help you get a great stay here as you enjoy the outdoor life and the Swedish/Norweigen nature, and spend some quality time with your friends or family.

It's said that the nature and mountain region here in Jamtland, does someting with your mind, heart and soul, no matter the season. - And it's true. But you need to experience it yourself.

The hostel is since 2011 run by Tina & Niklas Holmedahl and in 2012 it was elected as the second best newcomer hostel in Sweden by STF (the Swedish Tourist Assosiation).

We have a lot going on during the winter seasons, and in our pub we usually have quiz nights, themed pub nights, afternoon teas and a lot more.

(The English version might not be published this season, but check out the calendar in Swedish!)

Every winter we have miles of cross-country ski tracks starting in our back yard (actually by the pine you see in the picture of our main building to the right).

To get here

Even though we're in the mountains, it's a very accessible area, with the Storlien train station 4 km away; Vearnes, Trondheims international airport 70 km ( 40 min) away and our own turnoff from the main road that goes between Trondheim and Sundsvall (E14).

(An English page will hopefully be published during this season, but there is alredy a Swedish version of our "How to get here" page containing some good tips on how to get here from Vaernes; taxi prices, and other travel information.
